Mathematics

 In mathematics we aim to develop clear and logical thought and a full understanding of the concepts of number, space, shape and dimension and their inter-relationships. We aim to develop the skills necessary to their manipulation, with accuracy, speed and confidence, by giving children opportunities to use their skills in a variety of theoretical and practical situations so as to prepare them for further education and the requirements of adult life.  A great emphasis is placed on mental strategies, and we recognise that maths is a worthwhile activity that is enjoyable in its own right. All Key Stages are taught in ability groups for mathematics
